Bozlu Art Project Nişantaşı hosts the exhibition titled “KORKU / FEAR” by twelve different artists between June 21 and August 31. The exhibition which is curated by Özlem İnay Erten comprises artists’ works from different disciplines created around the theme of “fear”.
Bozlu Art Project is welcoming the summer season with a new exhibition that comprises the works of artists from different disciplines. The main theme of the exhibition will be “fear” and may be visited during whole summer.
Fear is a theme which has affected artists and artworks since the first ages of mankind. The need of defining or describing or even overcoming fear inspire the artists’ questions for centuries. From the cave paintings to the masks of several primitive societies, from Munch’s “Scream” to Goya’s “The Third of May 1808”, fear is a subject that can be observed on countless works of art in history. This is a situation which is still effectual. Our fears are still affecting all features of life and they affect the artworks of our times, too.
“Fear” is an exhibition that is gathering the artworks of twelve different artists who’s asking questions about researching this individual and sociological feeling: What is fear? Is it describable? How can it be concretized? What does it affect? Even more, is it possible to express or overcome fear by art?
The exhibition presents the works of Ali Alışır, Beyza Boynudelik, Aydın Büyüktaş, Hakan Çınar, Evren Erol, Nur Gürel, Tülay İçöz, Kazım Karakaya, Çağatay Odabaş, Meliha Sözeri, Özer Toraman, Semih Zeki and may be visited at Bozlu Art Project Nişantaşı between June 21 and August 31, 2016.
