Born in 1986 in Istanbul, Gamze Taşdan graduated from Yıldız Technical University’s Faculty of Fine Arts with Combined Arts. She received her postgraduate in Painting from Marmara University’s Fine Art Institute in 2015 and starts the Eligibility in Art program next year. In 2014 her first exhibition held “No Big Deal” in Galeri Apel. In her second personal exhibition named “Çık dediler sahneye” tackles the historical club culture and it’s visual world that shaped the present day concept of entertainment and show business. With contributing prestigious exhibitions such as 2012 Siemens “Borders Orbits”, 2013 Akbank “Günümüz Sanatçıları”, 2015 Holland Concordia Museum and Austria ESSL Awards her reoccurring themes are sexuality in society, traditional and popular culture and women in Turkish Cinema. Tasdan occasionally uses her face and body as imagery in her work, attracts attention with amusing gestures while criticizing. Artist lives and continues her work in Istanbul.
